Bruce Blakeman, who is running for Congress on Long Island and was once wed to Sir Paul Mc Cartney’s wife Nancy Shevell, is to remarry.We’re told Blakeman popped the question to attorney Segal Magori Monday in Israel at Gabriela, a kosher Italian restaurant, in front of 30 guests.Because he was a Long Island politico, Blakeman had to stay at the home in Woodmere, while Shevell would crash in Manhattan for a shorter commute to work.

We’re told Blakeman has been meeting with government and Israel Defense Forces leaders while overseas.

He has appeared frequently on national and local television as a guest commentator on legal, political, budgetary, finance, homeland security and transportation issues. Blakeman served as chairman and co-founder of the Hewlett House Council, a breast cancer learning resource center and volunteered as an assistant varsity basketball coach at Malverne High School.

Additionally, he has held leadership posts for several business, community and law enforcement organizations, including Vice President of the American Jewish Congress, Executive Director of the New York Police Chiefs Benevolent Association, former Associate Director of the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Foundation, member of the Tempo Group Board of Directors (non-profit drug and alcohol counseling center), Deputy Counsel for the Nassau County Fire Marshal's Benevolent Association and a member of the Franklin Hospital Medical Center's Development Advisory Board. Blakeman was born in Oceanside, raised in Valley Stream and is a graduate of Valley Stream Central High School. The Third Councilmanic District includes Atlantic Beach, East Atlantic Beach, Inwood, Lawrence, North Valley Stream, South Valley Stream, and Meadowmere Park; and a portion of Cedarhurst, Franklin Square, Malverne, Valley Stream, West Hempstead, and Woodmere.

He has been admitted to practice law before the United States Supreme Court, New York and New Jersey courts, the United States Court of Appeals, Fourth Circuit, and the United States District Courts, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York.

Areas of practice include real estate, commercial litigation, personal injury, land use, transportation, finance and insurance.
